Charleston Falls Preserve
Enjoy the peace and beauty of Charleston Falls, which offers 216 acres of relatively undisturbed natural forest & prairie, with a 37 foot waterfall that tumbles over rock strata also found in New York State & Canada, earning it the name of "Miniature Niagara". Nearly two miles of trails meander through varied habitats such as Redbud Valley & Thorny Badlands, offering explosions of color and varieties of scenic wonder. A small pond, small limestone cave, tall grass prairie & an observation tower add to the interest of this natural setting. Wildflowers, White-tailed deer, Red Fox, Striped Skunks, Raccoons, Red-tailed Hawks, & Wild Turkey are among the many wildlife residents at Charleston Falls. Picnic tables, drinking water, handicap accessible restrooms available.
